Alfredo Rodriguez nacio en la Ciudad de La Habana, un dia 29 de noviembre, en la decada del 50 del siglo XX.

Realizo estudios de canto con el profesor italiano Sisco Francha y adquirio otros conocimientos musicales en el Teatro "Amadeo Roldan".

Su labor artistica profesional se inicia en 1968 en la television cubana, medio que ha tenido gran incidencia en su carrera, pues un ano despues se encargo de la conduccion de un famoso programa "Buenas Tardes", y alcanzo gran notoriedad por sus incursiones en los medios de comunicacion cubanos.

Tuvo un vertiginoso ascenso a la popularidad interpretando temas propios, convertidos rapidamente en hits, como "Empapado de sudor" y "Que me encapricho", aunque incursiona tambien en el cancionero latinoamericano. Su repertorio es variado y comprende generos de la musica popular cubana e internacional, mas cultiva fundamentalmente la cancion romantica.

Durante su carrera artistica ha tenido la satisfaccion de ganar en ocho ocasiones el "Premio Girasol" que concedia por voto popular la revista "Opina", a los artistas mas sobresalientes de cada ano en Cuba.

Alfredito, como afablemente le llama su pueblo, ha realizado giras por toda la isla, siendo el cantante solista masculino de mayor convocatoria en su pais, y uno de los "elegidos" que logra abarrotar enormes salas de concierto como el Teatro Karl Marx.
